Fareham Shopping Centre is bringing together a number of local organisations for a special Accessible and Inclusive Shopping event, taking place on Monday 9th November from 10am to 2pm in Osborn Square.

The event will provide an opportunity for visitors to discover local accessibility support, advice and signposting, while meeting organisations that are there to support people across the local community.

Visitors will be able to meet representatives from Fareham Shopping Centre, Community First Connect, Fareham Shopmobility, Dementia Friendly Hampshire, Home Instead, Autism Hampshire, Disabled Peoples Voice and Fareham Practice Social Prescriber.

The event is designed to create a welcoming opportunity for people to find out more about the support available locally, ask questions and connect with organisations that understand the different needs of shoppers and members of the community.

There will also be colouring sheets and a free soft play area in Osborn Square, providing activities for younger visitors while families take the opportunity to explore the support and information available.

Mike Taylor, Centre Manager at Fareham Shopping Centre, said:

“We’re really pleased to be bringing together such a fantastic range of local organisations for our Accessible and Inclusive Shopping event. We want Fareham Shopping Centre to be a welcoming place for everyone, and this event is a great opportunity for visitors to meet local organisations, discover the support available and find out more about how we can make shopping and visiting the centre a positive experience for all.”

Cllr Frair Burgess, Executive Member for Leisure and Community, added:

“It’s really important that we make Fareham as accessible to all of our community as possible. I am delighted that Fareham Shopping Centre is hosting this event where our residents can find out more about the wide range of support and services they have available to them.”

The event is open to everyone, and visitors are encouraged to come along, meet the participating organisations and discover the range of support available within the local community.
