Padel has arrived at Fareham Leisure Centre!

A brand-new padel facility is now open at Fareham Leisure Centre.

Padel is one of the world’s fastest growing sports. Often referred to as a mix of tennis and squash. It is easy to learn and can be played by all ages and abilities.

Padel4all, one of the leading operators of covered padel centres in the UK, has provided the new facility with four covered courts on Park Lane Recreation Ground, right next to Fareham Leisure Centre.

A padel tennis court is much like a traditional tennis court, except it is around 25% smaller (10 meters x 20 meters per court) and has glass walls/partitions surrounding it.

The main differences between tennis and padel are the type of racket and the ability to play off the walls. Most points are won through tactics and clever play (not through power) which requires less intense physical effort. Rallies last longer so players still enjoy a good cardio workout. All of these aspects combine to make padel an accessible sport that’s suited for a wide range of ages and sporting abilities.

An ‘Intro to Padel’ session can be booked for just £6 per person, which is a one-hour coach-led introduction to the sport, with equipment included. Visit the Padel4all website to book a space.

Membership options and public pay-and-play are both available and there is free onsite parking at the Leisure Centre. Opening times are 8am–10pm Monday to Friday and 8am–8pm Saturday and Sunday.
