Pride month in Fareham
This June, Fareham is proud to celebrate LGBTQ+ Pride Month with a vibrant and inclusive programme of events, delivered in partnership with a range of local organisations. From creative workshops and live performances to community gatherings and town centre displays, there are plenty of opportunities for residents and visitors to come together, learn, and celebrate.
Pride History Exhibition (8–19 June)
Fareham Library will host a brand-new Pride History Exhibition, offering visitors an engaging and thoughtful journey through LGBTQ+ history. Featuring key milestones, personal stories and landmark moments, the exhibition invites reflection and celebrates the diversity of experiences within the LGBTQ+ community.
This special exhibition has been created by Y Services and their young people, making it a powerful and authentic highlight of Fareham’s first town-wide Pride programme.
LGBTQ+ Shows at Fareham Live
Throughout June, Fareham Live will present a series of LGBTQ+ inspired shows celebrating creativity, identity and inclusivity. The programme showcases diverse talent and voices, offering something for everyone.

Legends of Drag – Saturday 13 June, 7:30pm
Laugh Out Proud – Wednesday 24 June, 8pm

Flag making workshops
Get creative and show your Pride at the flag making workshops hosted by Crafty Makery in Fareham Shopping Centre, in partnership with Portsmouth Pride.
These sessions are a great way to prepare for the Pride Picnic and create something unique to wave on the day.
Workshop dates:
Wednesday 10 June, 2pm–4:30pm
Thursday 11 June, 2pm–4:30pm
Fareham Pride Picnic (13 June, 11am – 2pm)
Join us for the highlight of the month, the Fareham Pride Picnic in the Civic Gardens.
Bring your picnic blanket and enjoy:
Live entertainment organised by Downtown Pompey
Opportunities to meet local LGBTQ+ community groups
A welcoming and joyful atmosphere for all ages
This event marks a milestone as Fareham’s first Pride celebration, bringing the community together in a spirit of inclusivity and celebration.
Events at The Golden Lion
The Golden Lion (PO16 7AE) will be joining the celebrations with Pride decorations and a series of themed events:
Tuesday 9 June – Drag Bingo
Saturday 13 June (from 3pm) – Meet and greet garden party with resident drag artist Chloe Mydia
Sunday 14 June (3–6pm) – Drageoke, followed by a disco until close
Town centre decorations
Throughout June, Fareham Town Centre will be transformed with Pride-themed colours, banners and displays, helping to create a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere across the High Street and beyond.
Local businesses are encouraged to join in by decorating their shop windows and showing their support for Pride Month.
