Green Fingers? Move bloomin’ fast!

The closing date for entries to the amazing Fareham in Bloom is b…looming – entries must be in by Monday 3 July.

A celebration of our community and our passion for great spaces, Fareham in Bloom has been brightening the Borough for 25 years. Maybe this year is the time for you to be recognised for your gardening gems and your commitment to our community.

Every entrant will get a 10% discount at St Margaret’s Nurseries while prizes for winners include an annual subscription to the Council’s Garden waste scheme and vouchers to spend at St Margaret’s Nurseries, as well as a bug hotel or gardening tools for the children.

Your photos will be featured on social media and every category winner will be invited to a gardening VIP tea party at the Mayor’s Parlour.

Fareham in Bloom is sponsored by St Margaret’s Nursery and Fareham Shopping Centre.

There will be one winner in each of the following categories:

Best Garden

The best overall!

Commercial

If you have a stunning shopfront, perfect café, restaurant, or pub garden, a school, children’s nursery with floral flair or any business with blooms, then enter now.

Something Small

Brilliant blooms don’t have to be big. Think hanging baskets, window boxes, striking features, or a small open space that you just love.

Community Floral Display

Nothing is better than time in your own garden, except than time in a shared one. It might be a garden space in your road that the community looks after. It may be a community centre, the grounds of a sheltered housing scheme, retirement home or any community area.

Young Green Fingers

Children love to watch something grow – so if you have some little green fingers planting on the patch, please let us know.

Sustainable garden

If you’ve been working to encourage wildlife into your garden, been growing your own fruit and veg at home or at an allotment, using recycled materials or minimal resources we want to applaud you and share your efforts to inspire others.

Entering is easy sweet peasy!

Head to the website, add a few details and photos – and you’re instantly in with a chance to win!

It’s free to take part if you live or have a business in Fareham. Anyone can get involved, regardless of the size of your outdoor space.

If you aren’t entering the competition, then don’t forget to vote! Voting will be open to the public from 17 to 31 July when voting closes at 10am.

A member of the judging panel and a community volunteer will visit the two gardens with the higheste votes in each category.

Let’s fill Fareham with flowers!
