The holiday club that isn’t just for Christmas
Christmas can be a stressful time of year for everyone but luckily for all you parents across the patch, there’s a holiday club that’s here to make it that little bit easier!
Foundation Play is a holiday club for those between the ages of 4-11 based within Boundary Oak School.
Registered with Ofsted, the club opened its doors at the end of the summer holidays and is now returning over the festive period following popular demand.
Children joining the club can get involved in all sorts of activities, from science and sports to arts and crafts – so no day is the same!
Favourites include cooking workshops, capture the flag, gymnastics and super science experiments. Plus, the club has a wide range of supplies, so those crafty creators can make anything their minds can think of.
Managing Director of Foundation Play, James Woffindin (pictured left), said: “We really wanted to spread the word this Christmas that we’re offering another holiday club. It can be such a stressful period for many parents, and we’re really proud to offer an option that can help alleviate some of that stress.
“We really focus on making sure the kids have a good time and feel comfortable enough to get stuck in with anything.
“We’ve got structured activities that all are tailored to meet the seven areas of learning and development, as well as plenty of free playtime and access to all the school’s equipment and woodland grounds, so there really is something for everyone.
“We even run special days for the kids, where we get an external company to come in so we can offer something even more exciting, like bouncy castles and laser tag.
“We’ve had petting zoos make a visit, which always goes down well as some of the kids that come to us might not have been able to visit a zoo before, so seeing their faces light up when they see all these new creatures and critters – it’s incredibly rewarding.”
The weekly sessions run from Monday – Friday, with the Christmas sessions starting the weeks of December 19, 26 and January 3.
The club is also running various discounts over the Christmas period, including a 20% sibling discount as well as a 10% discount when booking a full week.
James added: “As we’re Ofsted registered, I’m sure there are a lot of parents out there who don’t know they can also claim vouchers for tax-free childcare with us. They can register online, through the Ofsted website, and see if they’re eligible.
“All our staff have enhanced DBS checks, with safeguarding certificates and first-aid training, and we’re incredibly proud to have the training to offer care to every child, including those with special education needs.
“We’re not stopping after Christmas either! We’ve already got plans in the works for 2023, so it would be great to get the word out to those that don’t know we’re here.”
