Butchers with a twist on the classics…

Fancy a change from your usual pork and leek bangers? Then head to your local butchers where all manner of tasty treats can be found, including sausages made with Marmite, Katsu curry or even smokey Bourbon!

Getting to know your local butcher can often save time and money, but the real fun is finding those quirky twists on traditional favourites never to be seen in the supermarkets.

Our Live Love Local butchers have all kinds of produce to check out. They love getting creative and with meat usually sourced from local farms, the journey from farm to plate is shorter. For those of us interested in food provenance, understanding where our meat has come from is important. But so are those top tips that only butchers know – the most cost-effective, tasty cuts and how to cook them, as well as finely honed butchery skills to prepare your meat exactly the way you like it.

So here are some of our favourite treats you might find around our special Fareham patch this autumn.

From gluten-free to flavours like smokey Bourbon, Katsu curry, and spiced mango, lime, and coconut, the sausages at Dave’s Family Butchers in Fareham are rightly famous. The two butcher brothers have been serving customers for 26 years with a wonderful array of meat alongside great homemade pies, pasties – as well as those awesome sausages
