Winter Warmers at Cackleberrys

Everyone loves a hot drink with a mince pie at Christmas, and no one knows that better than mother and daughter dream team, Terry and Edwina Wain. Terry is the owner of the Fareham-based coffee shop, Cackleberrys, and runs it with daughter Edwina. Each year they impress by taking their baking skills to new heights, creating delicious Christmas treats for customers, and helping them to warm up on even the chilliest of winter days.

You will be glad to hear this year, is no different!

The pair prepares, makes, and bakes all of Cackleberry’s sweet treats by hand – from stove to cooling rack. So far, this winter’s favourite seasonal treat looks to be the infamous cranberry and orange mince pies, brought back by popular demand! But if pie is not your style, why not try a gingerbread biscuit decorated with the signature Cackleberrys chicken complete with a Santa hat!

No Christmas treat is complete without a heart-warming festive drink, but not to worry – Edwina has you covered with her fabulous selection of Winter Warmers! With caffeine hit options like black forest mochas, toffee nut or gingerbread lattes, to velvety hot chocolates with cream, marshmallows, chocolate shavings and more!

Cackleberrys itself is named after Terrys own Grandmother, Nanny Brown – who used to ask her to fetch the Cackleberrys during visits to her house when she was a little girl. Teaching Terry all she knows in the kitchen, Nanny Brown handed down secret recipes that are known to only 4 people in the family – and may just be the reason all of Cackleberrys treats are so yummy.

A photo of Nanny Brown remains in the store, hung above the oven, with her watchful eye making sure each pie baked, comes out perfectly.
