Flo’s Market

Introducing Flo’s Market!

Helen Ruff is our first guest blogger, telling us all about Flo’s Market

Brand new for Portchester, Flo’s Market is set to take place on Saturday 8 March from 10am until 3pm in Portchester shopping precinct.

At this outdoor market, you can expect 25 high quality, handpicked traders with products ranging from candles, local tea, coffee and homemade preserves, to jewellery, pet products, craft supplies, art and more!

Each trader is local, and chosen for their unique product and passion for their trade.

Locally brewed craft beer and outdoor bench seating will be available from the Portcullis Taphouse. Fingers crossed for a fine day!

A Portchester-based butcher will be cooking up a storm outside their shop for visitors to enjoy, and you’ll be able to warm up with hot drinks from the Coffee Cup and Darcy’s throughout the day.

As well as the stalls, food and drink on offer, visitors can enjoy a line-up of live music throughout the day. Performers will include Spinnaker Shanty, King Rollo, Roy Coombes, James Westerby and Katie Rogers. They will all be busking outside the Portcullis Taphouse, so please show your appreciation!

Plus, all the family can have a go at hunting for clues throughout the market – find all the clues to win a prize! If that’s not enough, Glitz n Glow will be set up in their gazebo on the day to add colour and sparkle to little ones…and grown-ups too if you like!

Flo’s Market is an opportunity to celebrate Portchester shopping precinct and the local independent businesses. It’s organised by Portchester-based Helen Ruff, whose business is Flo’s Circle, and who recently started producing a free magazine for Fareham and Gosport celebrating small lifestyle businesses. Copies of issue two will be available on the day.

Please go along and show your support for Flo’s Market – it could become a monthly event in Portchester!
