The Mansion at Coldeast puts on the greatest show this summer
It’s everything you ever want, it’s everything you ever need – and it’s right here in front of you!
Tune up your vocal cords in preparation for a three-day film festival featuring three popular movie musicals at the Mansion at Coldeast this summer.
The splendid Victorian apart-hotel has teamed up with Horizon Experiences for an open-air cinema extravaganza in June, with The Greatest Showman, Mamma Mia and Bohemian Rhapsody broadcast on a giant screen under a moonlit sky.
Film fans are invited to pull up a camping chair, unfurl a blanket, or hire a VIP deckchair to sing along with Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron in The Greatest Showman on June 24, escape to a Greek island with Mamma Mia on June 25, and punch the air with Freddie Mercury at Bohemian Rhapsody on June 26.
Screenings start at 7.30pm, just as the sun sets over the mansion.
Once you have chosen your area or been shown to your VIP seats, you’ll have a chance to explore the nine acres of beautiful grounds near the Hamble River, grab some dinner or snacks from the onsite food vendors, and enjoy a pre-film soundtrack of some much-loved musical favourites.
A visit to the film festival is also a great chance to find out more about this former stately home, which opened its doors as a newly refurbished apart-hotel in September last year.
Thirty-two hotel-based apartments offer short or longer-term stays for both business and leisure, while Becketts at The Mansion offers guests the choice of eating in the beautiful period dining room overlooking the grounds or outside on the tranquil, lavender fragranced terrace.
And if you’re looking for something a little more unique, six dining pods among the trees are available for private hire and delicious Sunday roast sharing boards – you can find out more here.
Dogs aren’t left out, either, with well-behaved pooches welcomed with open arms and dedicated dog-friendly rooms.
